Almost all dis-ease starts in the gut! Some eastern medical systems treat nearly every dis-ease by addressing the digestive system. When our digestive system is properly functioning, our body is breaking down our food, absorbing enough of the right nutrients and naturally eliminating the waste that we don’t need.
The herbs used in this Life Body infusion are combined to bring the body back into balance, which also honors our solar plexus.
Dandelion leaf, Licorice root, Burdock root, Marshmallow root, and Fennel seed
Dandelion balances the natural and beneficial bacteria in the intestines. It can increase the release of stomach acid and bile to aid digestion, especially of fats. Due to the anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties of Licorice Root, it can speed the repair of stomach lining and restore balance. This herb has been used to soothe gastrointestinal problems and used in cases of food poisoning, stomach ulcers, and heart burn/ acid reflux.
Burdock root is good for the digestive system. A natural detoxifying and purifying agent, these roots are excellent sources of non-starch polysaccharides, including insulin and mucilage. These ingredients, while aiding digestion and flushing out toxins, also act as mild laxatives. This, in turn, helps in easing constipation. Marshmallow root soothes inflammation of the lining of the stomach, as well as for diarrhea and stomach ulcers. Fennel decreases bloat.
